Dream Chasing!

I’m feeling rather proud of myself right now. For anyone whose mother has told them that their dreams (no matter how outrageous) are always achievable with hard work and dedication… go out and start chasing those dreams!

I took on the rather large goal this year of beginning a double degree at uni on top of my CBTS course and running a dance studio and working. Many people told me I was taking on too much, that I would burn out or that I some areas of my busy life would excel and some would just drift by. My worry was that I would enrol in uni and get through my subjects, but just with passes, and I know deep down that I’m better than just a pass.

Work has been fine for me, the dance studio is successfully expanding and I passed my first year of CBTS, but my proudest achievement this year is that I’ve managed to not only pass my second semester units, but I’ve received distinctions!

Anyone who has been putting off starting something new for fear of being too busy… suck it up, life is busy, it always will be, if you don’t start now you may never start. Dreams are there to be chased!

Love Ali xx

Oh Donna Hay... Why must your brownies be so amazing?! Surely something that tastes so yummy must be good for me... right?

A reason to smile....

Every day deserves a smile!

2011 has been especially busy: I started uni, I started my ballet teaching studies, I took over Elite Dance, I worked, and I also just purchased a warehouse with Matt in order to open a second dance studio next year.

Throughout this busy year I feel I've neglected many of my 'friendship duties' as my limited spare time has been devoted to the only thing I have energy for.....sleep. I therefore apologise profusely to my amazing friends, and point out, that at least some of the time this year, we did have smiles and laughs and love!

I also pinky swear that no matter how busy my schedule is...I always love you, all of you!

Hello Saturday

Today I woke up extremely early (5:00 thanks to Miss Marple), and laid awake, tossing and turning for half an hour before decided I may as well get up.

It’s raining (beautiful sound) and I have a nice cup of tea, at this moment, I am content. Waking up super early is sometimes a good thing; I’ve been able to spend the morning doing lazy things I would not normally find time for on a busy Saturday.

As of tomorrow I am required to spend six long and exhausting days in Sydney doing my Intensive Study Period for my Certificate of Ballet Teaching Studies. When I think about how much work it involves, I cringe and want the week to be finished already! If no-one hears from me all week, I assure you I have not fallen off the face of the earth (as much as I would like to), the schedule is such that I won’t be able to work or teach or socialise at all!

Time for Tea

A proper tea is much nicer than a very nearly tea,
which is one you forget about afterwards

Happy Twenty Four

This Friday a very beautiful friend turns 24 (oh so close to 25!) and I believe a Sunday picnic is in order... thoughts please?

Fiona, I realise that Sunday is your 'rest day' (you old Grandma), but I do think it's about time we all got together, and your birthday is such a fabulously convenient excuse!

... I promise to bring cake!

Blog: Take 2

How quickly we get sucked into the things we try to avoid!

My first blog, amour chaque jour was made rather reluctantly, in order to keep everyone up to date while I travelled Europe. I say reluctantly, because I’m a firm believer in hand written letters and journals.

It was hard to find time to post while overseas, I did however, enjoy writing on the blog and sharing the pictures from our amazing time abroad.

I therefore, with much less reluctance, create this new blog…eventually to be full of all the fabulous things that make up my life... you may also be subject to all the beautiful things I happen to be lusting after (and sadly cannot afford).

xx Ali
